Rules for Use of the Remote Base on 449.075
- The remote shall only be used when the user is in range to sufficiently control all functions (DTMF tones must be readily accepted by the controller).
- The remote receiver shall only be tuned to frequencies within the following groups:
1. the amateur band
2. the NOAA weather frequencies (162.40, 162.475, 162.55)
3. WWV (2.5, 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0)- The user shall enable transmit only on the amateur bands within his/her operating privileges. If a control operator hears a user enable transmit outside of allocated privileges, the user will lose use of the remote.
- When transmitting, users shall stay at least 3 khz from the band edge.
- When the remote transmitter is enabled, the user shall be immediately available to disable it.
- When the remote is enabled, the user shall identify him/herself as the control operator at least every 5 minutes. The only exception is for nets, such as the Mennonet, or Space Shuttle Audio Retransmissions.
- If the language being received through the remote does not meet the standards established by SPARK (wholesome, free of swearing, not derogatory to any race, religion, etc.), the frequency of the remote receiver shall immediately be changed by the user.
- Other amateurs heard on the 449.075 repeater may also want to use the remote, conduct normal conversations, or use the autopatch. Be sensitive to other users in your usage of the remote.
